Talks & Walks

Throughout the year we have a programme of events comprising both Talks and Guided Tours.

Programme of Events for 2025

There is a modest charge of £4 per head for each event, except the Archive Day on 21st June and the Heritage Open Day walk on Friday 12th September which are free.

Archive Day: The afternoon will include a showing of a film on Bomber Command veteran Ray Parke, historic films of Thorpe, material from the Janet Smith Archive and displays on the Red Cross in Thorpe and the Thorpe rail Crash of 1874. There will also be tea and cakes.

Please note: the number we can accommodate on some events is limited, so booking is necessary.

Booking is required for some events as numbers are limited. Booking can be made by email to Nick Williams at info@thorpe-history-group.org. Payment will be collected on the day.

Booking for the guided walk on 12th September should be done via the Heritage Day website when bookings open in August.

Booking is not necessary for the talks at the St Andrew’s Centre – just turn up.
